Do you sit or stand to wipe?

Why I decided on this topic. I'm sorry if you're grossed out!

Most of us learn how to wipe when we're young, or at least I hope we do. I know that when I was taught that I was taught to do so standing up. I never really thought about the differences between standing up and sitting down but I have found that it's a pretty heated debate.

I was on a service mission in Chile (South America) and at times the conversation between peers tended to stray far from the norm. I can specifically remember the day that I somehow brought up the fact that I wipe standing up. I also remember the expression on my friend's face as he tried to figure out how that would even be possible. I came to realize that it is very difficult for someone that stands to understand how someone wipes while sitting and it's also difficult for someone who sits to grasp the idea of wiping while standing. I brought this topic up yesterday to one of my good friends and he is among the noble (the standers) and he agreed with me that you simply have a better angle while standing up. Are you grossed out? I simply wanted to know what the majority of people do whether they wipe standing up or sitting down. Now..... Let us discuss some benefits of both.

Benefits of both methods

(click column header to sort results)
Standing
Sitting
You get a better angle
You don't smear the "you know what"
You're ready to run if someone pulls a gun on you
It's more comfortable
It's just better haha
Minimal amount of movement
Just a couple of benefits of wiping as you sit or stand.

Downfalls to wiping while standing or sitting.

Standing
Sitting
You sometimes smear
With a shifty toilet seat you could fall off
You have to stand up (more work)
You don't get a good angle
You make eye contact with people in other stalls
No chance of escape in case of a fire

Expansion on benefits and downfalls

When you stand you have a lot more benefits but at the same time you always run the risk of some very awkward moments. One of my biggest fears/phobias is making eye contact with someone that is in another stall, just entering the bathroom, or even waiting for you to exit so they can then take your position. Especially if the other person is very tall you run a high risk of some really awkward eye contact. Has this ever happened to you?

One of the worst things that could happen to you if you're a sitter is having an unstable toilet lid. I have experienced this many times especially while I was in Chile (South America). I know that if I was a sitter then I would have fallen off or into the toilet several times. How horrible would it be to just fall right off the toilet? If that were to happen to you then you might want to assess your current situation and determine what needs to be done to prevent further mishaps. My best suggestion is to STAND!!!!

One of the most daunting places on earth!

I'm sorry sir. You can't be grey on this subject. It's very important that you take a side.

I need a 3rd option, I hunch when wiping.
